That's been an argument for years, I haven't seen either, but what I understand is that 720p at 24fps is perfect for movies, although the display rate has to be boosted to 72 or 60 fps to prevent flicker. The 1080i is better for fast motion like sports events because the frame rate is higher. Resolution is about the same for each. The marketers are firmly attached to the 1080 spec so they can advertise More that 1000 lines of resolution!!!!.
