TNCi Brings Its CruiseView Technology to the Home and Business Markets

ALPHARETTA, Ga., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Network Connection, Inc.
(Nasdaq: TNCX)(TNCi), an industry leading developer and manufacturer of video
and multimedia file-server technology today announced the STPC (Set Top PC)
for Home and Business markets.
The TNCi STPC is an innovative new book-size Pentium(R) processor-based PC
that combines integrated networking, multimedia features and the ability to
display on either VGA monitor or television set.
Imagine being able to control this system with a standard keyboard-mouse
combination or an infrared remote controller that will handle both the STPC
and the television monitor.
The MPEG-1/MPEG-2 digital decoder and full duplex audio card allows the
user to take full advantage of the new world of multimedia training or
entertainment. The user will have access to full motion, full screen video,
and high quality audio.
For full I/0 connectivity, the STPC also is equipped with an RJ45 jack to
connect to a LAN network, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, two serial ports, one
ECP/EPP capable parallel port, one VGA connector, TV video output, and two USB
connectors for use with upcoming USB capable peripherals.
STPC is available for deliveries starting April 15, 1998.
TNCi designs, manufactures and distributes the Cheetah(R) family of video
server platforms that enable the storage and delivery of up to 700 hours of
digital video/audio data to up to 300 simultaneous video/audio users over
local area networks. Cheetah(R) servers are used to bring interactive,
on-demand, full-motion video training, education and entertainment to the
networked client computers in the corporate, home, educational and aircraft
(AirView(R)) cruise ship (CruiseView(TM)), train (TrainView(R)), and hotel
(InnView(R)) travel related entertainment and transport environments.
