dmf - re: Intel & Mother In A Box & "Would you tell me what you think about this?"

This is a very much needed EXTENSION to the Intel Inside campaign.

By establishing and developing Intel Inside, Intel made sure the buying public would get a quality, compatible (READ INTEL COMPATIBLE)
product if they purchased the "Intel Inside" computer.

Intel is now trying to convince the "reluctant" buying public that does not have a PC that should they purchase one, Intel will be there to help out with technical problems. Bear in mind that these "reluctant" purchasers are probably on the less skilled technical end of things. Knowing that Intel is available to provide a safety net for handling technical issues may get these potential buyers off the fence and into the show rooms to buy Intel Inside.

Another factor is to counter the AMD K6 and Cyrix MediaGX/6x86MX PCs. If these are stuffed into "no-name" computers, how will buyers be guaranteed technical support?

Answer - they won't!

However, if these same "no-name" PCs contain Intel silicon, Mother Intel will be there to fall back on should the purchaser need technical help. Yet another reason to avoid cheap imitations!
