"Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together..." Hebrews

In early days, they used mules to mine with...working them day in and day out...finally bringing them out of the mines when they were about to drop...and they discovered, they'd kept them in the dark for so long, they became blind .

Application-
Church and worship is necessary for us to keep us from becoming blind. One day a week---a couple of hours out of 168---to receive the Word, Light, Love, Faith, Hope, etc...what a deal God has given us...most of us even have Sunday's off...we work in a darkened world day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year.
In oppressed countries, many risk their lives to attend church---attending clandestinely. My wife and I drive nearly 50 miles one way to Church on Sundays---why? To receive the light---to come out of the dark. I once attended a worship service in Egypt, and a guard was posted at the door by the gov't---Sadat at the time---but it was considered a tremendous privilege to attend church

You certainly won't find "church" here on the internet, much less SI.

"Let the Church be the Church, let the people rejoice." As Gaither has penned in his hymn.

Amen.

B.

><>...Afternoon Bob...><>

You asked and stated:
"How will we be judged for that when we are forgiven of all our sins. When we are judged we will only be judged as forgiven and rewarded for any good works we do. Unless you believe we can fall from grace, which I don't. So we have nothing to fear from our judgement by the Lord.

I spoke nothing of falling from grace.
Does your above statement mean that you believe that all who are saved are priviliged characters and have authority from God to continue to sin and never have to again turn from those sins or ever again ask for forgiveness?

If you happen to hate yourself and then treat your neighbor badly have you in fact "loved your neighbor as yourself"?

Come on Bob....Why do you question and try to make bad out of that which was intended for good...
If you happen to hate yourself and treat your neighbor bady....then of course this does not apply to you ( not you specifically but whoever hates himself)....just common sense

True, yet I've seen very little of christians helping christians in my life. So many christians I've known have believed it is far better to receive than to give. Sad but true. One reason I don't go to church anymore. But I have many reasons.

As long as God understands your reasons...no need to worry about what others understand.

Have a blessed day
Shalom...><>

Dear Bob.

Let me suggest that the need to attend worship is not to receive, but to give to a group of God's people. If you are not there, it will not be the place it could be. Don't worry about what others take or give, our job is to make it a better place. If all the good people leave, what will be left? In the love of Yeshua, DLL>
