<I've found drives everywhere, but disks are nowhere to be seen.>

The reason for that is simple, everywhere you go, they've squandered 3 disks on the floor display. There were the three I saw at CompUsa the other day ( 207.183.153.23 ) and the three at Fry's I saw today. Those six could have almost satisfied Insight's total demand for SparQ carts today.

I noticed that the Fry's crowd is particularly tough on SparQ disks. As I mentioned before, the carts look really rinky-dink. But at Fry's, the nearest of the display trio had it's door strap ripped off. The next one's strap was dangling out like the tongue of a roped calf at branding time, even though the door was closed. It did not respond to gentle prodding. The third looked intact so I pulled it to check for spring-back speed. There was no spring-back until I gave it a little nudge, and even then it balked a lot, retracting like a rusty old tape measure.

NECX has int/ext drives and disks in stock, though the 3 pack does seem to come and go quickly. Still, at $86.95 for the 3 pack it's worth checking in frequently. + $5 for shipping. As long as you don't mind ordering over the web. You can give them credit card info over the phone, but unless you're willing to cough up $20 for a phone order you'll want to order via the web.
