Ron, have read your post, and Deswell looks like an interesting situation, but I wouldn't invest in ANY company in this part of the world. I have received another post in addition to yours that indicates that China won't devalue the Yuan. I disagree. I think they will have no choice in the end. There are real hard times on their way towards China. With the upcoming round of inflation, I think all of the regional currencies except the HK dollar are going to tumble as the extent of the money printing bullshit becomes more widely known. The Japanese Banking sector holds $21-23 Billion (US) worth of Indonesian loans, and almost certainly the vast majority of those are in default, with that country sinking into an abyss. Also, just recently it has come to light that the Malaysian property sector has way overbuilt, and there will be a ton of defaults on loans to property developers in Malaysia, none of which so far have been recognized. I have to wonder how much of that bad debt also will end up with Japanese (and possibly some HK) banks. I think this whole region is in for a very nasty year, and a lot of the news about just how bad its going to be will be coming out in the next quarter. Indonesia could explode at any time. You might consider Deswell a place to put some money, but you might want to hold off for a quarter (or two) to see where things end up. Just my own ramblings...

jess.
