Let's find one that isn't so nice.

So imagine that one's father is really insufferable. Not physically abusive, but mentally abusive. Insufferable so that he's had 4 wives (consecutively, not concurrently). And the kids aren't particularly fond of him either. One son decides, Screw It, I've had enough. Not going to communicate with him anymore.

Then Mom (the first) says those archaic magic words: &#147But no matter what, afterall, he's your Dad&#133&#148

So you have that society values thing raising it's head. Should said son (number one of three amongst the various marriages) rethink his decision?
