RE: It's funny how this stock still hasn't overcome its bad rep with the street that it seems to have acquired

Bad Rep? Naaaaaaa <g>

Many RAGING BULLS left in spite of the hysteria and attempts at whacking this sector...<g>

Even the day that SVGI got WAXXXXED.....CYMI held-up like a Champ <g> hmmmm.....telling me something.....

IMHO, really like the SVGI story of the little customer....with accelerating Big appetite for Bulbs....

IMO, Little more BAD NEWS.....and stock will really scream <g>....actually wish we could stay down longer to amass some more Cashola

Most of the stock thrashing was a result of a new public company not understanding how to manage the street and the high percentage of retail investors (like me/us) which is simply to keep them informed. I see many signs that they understand this and have been taking corrective actions. The best was when they actually got Reuters to retract their error ( see my post on Cymer news). They also (a little late) got a press release on the UT 80 nm work to show they are working on future tech. They also show they understand importance of service and competitors by the recent press release of partnership with Canon.

I am not saying that we won't go lower, but the eventual higher is looking better and nearer. We just need to get past the 1998 earnings of the sector. Mid year (only 3 mos away!) is when people will be able to look forward at 1999 earnings. It seems that the consensus is building that 1999 will be unusually strong (latent 1998 demand?). With the conversion of I line strong shifter masks to DUV (reports at SPIE) at the low end (250 nm design rules) and the similar reports that 248 DUV will extend to below 150nm design rules, and the UT work going below that, this should be a company minting money. Its CYMI's to lose if they get lax and allow a competitor because they fall short on technology, service, or pricing.
Happy investing,
TI2
