This is ***REAL INFORMATION*** and more reason why the Dow will be at 16000 at Feb 2002 [see rants from one, two and three years ago]. And, get this, more real information, Warren Buffet has realized he was mistaken when he thought shares were overvalued last year and now agrees with me that they are reasonably priced since interest rates haven't gone up etc. Even Alan Greenspan has started to realize he got it wrong on the irrational exuberance. Now, I just have to wait for Ramsey to swing into line.

Sweating yet Ramsey? 8700 and Qualcomm share price could explode any day. Dum, dee dah. Hi de ho, I'll just hang around and wait. Anyone still wishfully thinking they'll be buying in the 30s?

PS: shorting the Nikkei, or the Dow seems dodgy to me. Have fun! Deflation? Hah! You wait and see how fast governments can print money. Japan, Korea, USA, Russia all at it. China too. Their plan is to steal all the "good" deflation which results from productivity improvements by printing money and saying it's okay because, "look, there is no inflation". They are using the decades old inflation bogeyman to get away with it. Well, oil today, Dubai traded, got as low as $10.30 per barrel. An all-time low in constant dollars. Combine that with network values and producitivity improvements and massive deflation should be going on. And cheap things are good. That means you don't have to work so many hours to buy something. Many people like that.

Anyone holding money is a tax donor to the money printers - you are allowing them to transfer value from you to them.

They mention good deflation and bad deflation. Well, the good deflation in the USA will be transferred into the bad deflation in Japan by way of money printing. The USA will print money, Qualcomm will borrow it and go shopping. Meanwhile, Japan Inc will print money, their 140 yen to the dollar cars will be looking very cheap and people in the USA will buy Camry and Lexus like crazy. Balancing will take place quickly. Meanwhile, the oil going into Japan is costing them half what it was a couple or three years ago.

Place your bets everyone. I'm sticking with Qualcomm. You can place bets with term deposits, T-bills, or bet against the Dow or Nikkei if you like.
