Humble thanks, John, as always! A paragraph that caught my eye, since it echoes what I'm hearing from the trenches:

Many users of embedded devices are receiving claims of compliance from
vendors. If the truth be known, these vendors are really only making
comments about the technological viewpoint with which they have
intimate knowledge. Their lack of knowledge of possible problems at
lower viewpoints may lead them to provide a false sense of security to
users up the chain . . .
