Hi p firend: I really do not know about Coleman Barney but do know that his tenure goes way back, He was responsible for Border Manager, GroupWise, NetWare 3.1,4.0 and 5.0 product marketing and even was involved with the Novanux (sp?) deal. It's quite possible that he authorized the dumping of Netware products to the "Grey" market as alleged in the Class Suit but it is only speculation on my part.

Here is a recent quote from CEO Schmidt

"...According to Schmidt, with Raney in place as interim CFO, the company will continue its efforts to recruit a chief operating officer. The COO position has been vacant since last June, when Joe Marengi, Novell's then-president and COO left the company. Schmidt assumed the presidential role himself, but the COO position has remained unfilled..."

Perhaps CEO Schmidt is ready to announce a new COO and there was some more management resignations that needed to occur before the new position is filled.
