Mike, I see that Casino Data Systems releases earnings Monday. They will have a huge writeoff, amount unknown, and supposedly will have the books cleared for the new CEO. If you still look upon the stock as a speculative play, there may be quite a buying opportunity after the earnings are out. Friday's close was 3 1/4, and intraday trading after the release may be as low as 2 1/2, but I don't expect it to close at its low.

Regards,
Bob

No, Mike, I don't feel picked on at all. After all, what's the use in arguing with someone of like viewpoints?

Sometimes you bears, excuse me, contrarians, start to wallow in your bearishness--"it's all tulip bulbs!", "it's a mania!". This is a good time to pick at the weaker points. After all, you are not going to be right on all points--this prediction I can make with certainty! & if I had listened to Earlie, I don't think I would have owned any tech stocks for the last three years, which was not the right answer, either.

What is IDC's track record on unit sales predictions? As I recall, the last two years have been a little rosy but not out of touch with reality--the actual numbers were pretty close. Your memory goes further back than mine on this point.

I am still undecided on the Y2k effect. I thought originally that it would create as much business as it removed (by requiring the replacement of old mainframe systems) but am now starting to come around closer to your opinion. Are there any published facts or opinion polls to provide evidence either way?
