One has to do what is right for him/herself. On Friday I sold 2/3 of my position in APCO for a considerable profit.

Over the past 6 months I had invested a large portion of my portfolio in APCO. I initially got in at 5 3/4 and gradually averaged both up and down until now. As you can see it has done very well for me. I bought in because the company and it's management are solid and it was extremely undervalued at that point.

Now, APCO is getting a lot more attention which I believe made it a bit more volatile than I like. It is trading on a P/E of 30 which is a bit risky for it's industry without proven EPS. Just look at ISTN, one of APCO's competitors. Talk about undervalued!!! It got killed when it barely missed estimates last quarter. Or look at WTEC, it's other competitor that also got slaughtered when it barely missed estimates.By the way, I bought into both ISTN as well as WTEC when they recently crashed. They too have what it takes and were in the same situation as APCO. I use them as an example.

One of the reasons I invested in APCO is it's low risk to return. IMHO this ratio is changing way too quickly for a short term trader and therefore I sold a considerable portion of my stock on Friday.

I am still keeping the remaining 1/3 of my APCO in my long-term portfolio as I believe 3-5 years down the road it will do very well.

Until I see some real numbers the short term risk is just too high. I will be closely following APCO when next quarter's numbers come out. As analysts bump up their estimates APCO will need to keep up. This will be a testing point for APCO.

Long on APCO!
