Strategies & Market Trends : Bob Brinker: Market Savant & Radio Host -- Ignore unavailable to you. Want to Upgrade?

I believe Mr. Brinker did mention once that he purposefully does not have contact with the media (with an occasional exception like NBR). Nevertheless, given his "uncanny" calls on the market I would think they would seek him out or quote him. That stand-up comedian Mr. Bowtie is on every second yaking about inflation of all things. How can he do that with a straight face?

Bob:I have wondered about this myself. Could it be that CNBC doesn't want to
promote an ABC personality or program? For that matter, why hasn't Bob B. ever
been on Wall St. Week or CNN's nightly business show?

Here are some possible reasons not necessarily in order of importance:

l. Mr. Brinker lives in Florida, away from where most of these shows
are produced. He probably doesn't have the time or inclination to
travel to them. I would suggest that he is the "Key" person in his
organization and it is necessary for him to be on the job.

2. Mr. Brinker primarily picks No Load Mutual Funds and I believe
that these shows prefer Individual Stock pickers. When he appears
on NBR he has to come up Individual stocks and it is at odds with what
he would like to emphasize.

3. Although Bob is "King Fish" to us, he is probably small to medium
size to these producers in terms of dollars managed which would give
others more attention.

These are just some of my thoughts thrown out there as a possible
explaination.

Back in the early 90's Bob did appear on CNBC a number of times.
In fact he had his own show for a short time.
