I don't believe ERHC's "Mr. Bass" is related to the Bass family of Fort Worth; I could be wrong. There's no close familial relationship, in any case.

Imran:

<<Why has the stock fallen from it's high of close to $6?
That initial buying binge was typical overreaction to initial news coverage.

<< How vulnerable is this company to the price of oil (although I think oil prices can't go much lower from here)?

I think they can, but it is not overly sensitive to the price of oil. It's business is supposed to be mainly environmental remediation.

<<On the last annual report, there was no long term debt. Is the $50m loan they got a while back a big burden for the company?

I don't believe that they ever got a laon for 50 M. My understanding is that they recently arrange a 10M loc to be used on an as required basis.

<< Last, what is causing the volatility of the price if this company has really good prospects? (given that it is a BB stock and MMs are rampant)>>

The incredible diversity of busineess announcements of future business ventures combined with the tremendous difficulty of putting a value on a company such as this. They also seem to make less than thorough announcements on how much they will have to fork out for some of the business deals. It's a tough company for an analyst to get a handle on.

<<Just a few things that are nagging me. I think that a company run by the Bass family can't go wrong given their excellent reputation.

Not the same Bass.
