John: Great Coca-Cola finds. As I have tracked through some of these and other articles, my estimate of the number of factories in the Coke empire continues to grow, now exceeding Chris's estimate of 2,400 factories. Those who see Coke as a syrup company and the bottlers as separate are missing the tangled web that KO has expertly woven. The story of KO's investment in bottling and distribution systems repeats and repeats and repeats. KO is leaving little to chance in dominating the world soft drink market. It is not going to leave Y2K to chance, either.
