Nice epilogue Steve.

I'm also glad I have at least a couple more years before my mixers come in! I'm sure that 35MM is just part of the yearly interest on 10% of McDoanlds in 1998.

Joan Kroc (Ray's widow) gave away over 10 million in cash to help the flood victims in North Dakota last spring. She tried to keep it anonymous but that kind of thing is pretty hard to do. She's really quite the philanthropic lady.

In conjunction with some volunteering, I had written theme music for The Minneapolis Ronald McDonald House they used extensively in the mid to late 80's. The Minneapolis house was really a still-struggling charity at that time. The "Ronald McDonald House" is actually an honorary title for many of the facilities as McDonalds would "seed" each house with $25,000 in start up capital. I'm sure the figure is much higher now. Joan Kroc was involved to a great degree with this.

The actual name of the Minneapolis Ronald McDonald House is Children's Oncology Services Of The Upper Midwest or CONSUM. A GREAT service to human compassion and kindness at the most devastating and needed of times.

One of the things I learned at the Ronald House is that most of what we deem as problems are really just temporary inconveniences. To see families who have been financially decimated, holding on (literally) to the dear, precious life of their little one... just to lose their child in the end, put damn near everything into perspective for me.

Most of us are truly, truly blessed. Anyway....sorry if I got off track a bit.

Onward,

George
