Flick, Sorry, can't back you up w/ fact regarding 3Com's hit list.
3Com/Aware would also be my first choice but the market needs to be more developed (AOL & local telcos) before 3Com makes a move - which might not be a good idea. Strategically, if I were Intel, Aware would cease to exist instantly. To break into the networking arena, would you want to take on 3Com or Cisco?

Imagine... every Pentium III machine comes with an ADSL modem. With an innovative (and not a monopolistic) spin., INTC takes on both 3Com modem business & AMD/Cyrix!

In the meantime, we wait im/patiently...
