Vera - I agree that GPS would have been a very good investment over this time period but that doesn't have anything to do with Claire's. SI started as a Technology stock forum, later added some Bio-Tech and other miscellaneous forums including Specialty Retail (which GPS may not be). Why don't you start a new thread?

On the other hand, what presents the better value today? Claire's is looking goooood!!!

Steve

Hi,
There is a Gap thread listed under Specialty Retail. It was started
in Nov. 1996, and has drawn 7 whole posts since then. I have noticed
myself that the people who participate on SI seem to suffer from
tunnel vision. They will pick out one or a few computer or biotech
related threads to establish themselves on, and then spend all of their
time debating these few stocks to death while the rest of the investing universe flies right by them!
Thanks for the info on the Gap. I followed them off and on years
ago, but got away from watching them when they got mired down.
By the way, I liquidated a very large (for me) position in Pier 1
about a year ago in the high teens. Adjusting for splits, I think that
it has gone up about 150% since then. It appears that CLE just might
be on the verge of a similar breakout.

Good Luck,
Sean
