MrB, I think I know what you mean. I once tried a recipe that called for Pernod in an amount that would put it almost in a PPM ratio. In the finished dish, the Pernod overwhelmed. I swore I could still taste it days later. Off hand, I'd have to say the thought of artichokes and licorice does not appeal to my culinary senses, but then I don't particularly like licorice. Next time stick with the tomato sauce with white wine and you'll hardly go wrong, even in restaurants in Marin County's Sausalito. Is it REALLY a cholesterol-free zone? How DO they enforce that? Holly
