The numbers I quoted were Dell's recent past sales and earnings. Those numbers are facts. Everyone agrees on them. Everyone does not agree on projections of future earnings.

I don't believe I said anything anything about anyone eating anyone's lunch. You may have confused me with another Jack.

I don't understand your comment regarding Dell's repurchase of shares. One reason the number of Dell shares is not declining is because they keep splitting. DELL has split three times in less than two years. Dell has been very clear regarding their use of repurchased shares.

Regarding borrowing $500M: Who told you they were using the money to buy back shares? I seriously doubt that anyone would loan them money for that purpose. Dell is growing rapidly. They have several ways to raise money to invest in plant and equipment. Borrowing from banks is one of them. There are other sources of money as well. The choice a company makes is dependent on a variety of factors, including the interest rate, which just happens to be very low right now. You might want to check Dell's past return on investment. It is very good.

If DELL falls 50% tomorrow, I'll be right back where I was last summer, and about 100% ahead of where I was the previous winter. I don't worry about it. I'll stick with Dell until the fundamentals of the business change. If you really feel strongly that Dell is overvalued, short it.

>>Lastly, Briefing.com reported "Insiders remain active sellers of Dellstock>>

In its 4th quarter fiscal98 report, Dell disclosed for the first time, the number of basic and diluted shares. There were 40 million more shares diluted than basic (36 million is fiscal97). Looks like employees are excercising options at cheap prices to profit from the high stock price.
