Revelations, what a great subject, and yet still so mysterious that it never even received much publicity until about the last one hundred years or so. It is the last book of the bible and it's called the revelation of Jesus Christ. Instead of coming back to his disciples he had one of his disciples transported to Heaven and with the assistance of angels spread it out before John in a seemingly panoramic motion picture which portrayed the church throughout the ages and climaxing with the marriage supper of the lamb. That is the full unification of Christ and His bride, the church. The church is now in the laodicean church age, which means it is for the most part sleeping and being deceived that everything is still alright. The " name it claim it, grab it got it" mentality has for the most part
replaced repentance and true holiness but the eminnent return of the Lord Jesus Christ is forever going to change that. -Chris

Hi Wallstreeter,
As you can see there is very little agreement on any part of the Bible. To me this is because God deals with all of us as individuals hand made special treasures. The big issues like Jesus died for our sins, was raised from the dead, and was God incarnate, should not be a problem, but get into prophecy and watch out. If there were 3 people you would probably get 3 opinions.
Here are my opinions of the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ,
1. It is almost a duplicate of the Book of Daniel, even the authors are similar in their relationship to the Lord.
2. It is a sealed book and no one can add or take away from the book without penalty and those who study it will receive a special blessing.
It seems to me that the Lord put His Truth about the future in the OT and NT to let all people know what is to come. He says in the OT that He tells us the future so we will know it is He who has spoken it and performed it and He will always reveal the Truth.
When Jesus was questioned about prophecy He said when you see a cloud coming you say it will rain and it does, how is it you can not see the times. That is how I look at Revelations and end time prophecies as the cloud gets closer we will see more clearly, how fast it is coming what type it is etc... The scripture will become clearer and there will be less chance for error and discrediting the Word of God. So many have said this is it so many times that I encounter people all the time that say I have heard this before and mock the prophecies because of careless errors. The main thing is to walk with Jesus and He will reveal the meaning of the scriptures as the time for comes for us to know.
Also, some knowledge of the OT scripture (the root of the NT) help to understand the plans of God. May the Lord bless you today, Nancy

Hi wallstreeter,
I thought Chris's posts was very accurate. This age is marked by great deceptions and so many christians are clinging to false doctrines and teachings, it is very upsetting. And they believe these deceptions with all their heart. We have to be very, very careful in these last days lest we are deceived by the deceiving spirits which are hard at work in the world now.
Here is a link to a thread which is dedicated to Revelation prophecy and there are many ideas there. You will have to sift them for truth. It is not very active right now but not for want of interest. Start at the beginning. Subject 18583

May you be led into the truth by the Holy Spirit,

Bob

Good question, good idea to discuss it a lot since it is finally here after 2000 years of waiting.

wallstreeter:

I hope and pray that all is well in the lord. I found myself lifting you up to the Lord last Sunday while I was in church; so there had to have been a pressing need. To God be the glory when He hears your call if He hasn't already done so. In Christ..gregor
