3, 1) Yeah 25,000 contracts. The current position limits range from 4,500 to 25,000 contracts per issuer, as set by the CBOE and depending on the average trading volume and number of shares float outstanding. Dell's pos-lmt was 25,000 last I checked.

2) NationsBank Corporation's derivatives division was acquired a few years ago and makes lots of money. If they did a transaction it would be to earn the fees not to take the bearish position. I think they also trade/arbitrage for their own account.

3) Material events or developments are required to be reported within 10 days. If a 10-Q or 10-K is being filed within that time period, the company can report the event in that regularly scheduled report (and not draw attention to it). If not, they file a separate report on Form 8-K and on the title page show the date of the Earliest Event requiring the filing of the report.
