Rick, looks like PGEN had a dynamite move today. The stock was much higher before the daytraders pulled out. Looks good for next week. Here's what briefing.com had to say:

PROGENITOR INC (PGEN) 3 +1 1/8. Thus far, this is the hottest thing going this morning, following publication of research suggesting that the company's patented, nonviral gene therapy system, T7T7, may be effective in the treatment of solid-tumor cancers. The findings appear in today's issue of the peer-reviewed journal Human Gene Therapy (Volume 9:729-736, 1998). Direct injections of the drug into human tumor implants in mice receiving ganciclovir caused tumor shrinkage in six of the ten animals treated. Full, permanent tumor regression was achieved in three of these six tumors. Wonderful! Revolutionary! Don't get me wrong, I am certainly not implying that this study is of no importance. Any research focused on finding disease cures or relieving pain are, obviously, of great value. However, when dealing with a "dollar stock," most investors aren't really interested in what happens past tomorrow. The one thing they are concerned about is: Does the news sound impressive enough to pull in others? If so, then you have a momentum play -- the kind that can be good for 25%-30% in a matter of minutes. For the long-term investor who has purchased the stock before the news was announced, this type of action should send off a sell signal in your head. For a brief period, it is prudent to forget the buy-and-hold strategy. At the latest, take your profits by the next morning, then come back and by the stock three to four days latter after most of the momentum players have been shaken out and the stock has become dramatically less-expensive. After all, what's the point of riding it up, only to ride it all the way back down again
