Thinking or Feeling The Hippocratic OathI am sorry Mr. and Mrs. Markoff, I am afraid it is bad news. You're child has leprosy. Did you perhaps spend some time in the tropics when your child was younger ? What causes leprosy, well in the Bible it says it is a curse that God has visited upon certain sinners, in fact, according to the Law it makes them unclean. Well we have no course of treatment for leprosy in light of the obvious fact that it is caused by God. We had discussed attempting to treat and cure the disease but after considering the facts as laid out in the Word it becomes evident that this would be tantamount to thumbing our noses at God. We are more concerned about the implications of a cure, we would literally be "undoing" what God has done, in his wisdom. Of course some Doctors tried to point out the obvious facts but we decided they must be minions of Satan because of their stand on this simple issue. When Jesus got mad at the devout, the Sadducees and Pharisees, and asked them the question about saving the drowning child we feel he was commenting on water safety for our children. We can find very little evidence in the Bible for Jesus getting mad at those who hold to the letter of the Law. Rational discourse aside, have you decided what colony we will send this unclean child to ? If we make an active attempt to cure leprosy are we trying to modify the Word, or subvert the will of God. If we accept all people and Love them have we committed some grave theological error. Is any "Letter" worth more than a single drowning child. You do not need to undermine the Word to see Light. If you believe that the "reading room" is the proper place to handle broken legs then please feel free to avail yourself of that belief. Do not subject my children to this. When it comes right down to it, there really are some good examples of how to handle those who deal in the Letter, not the Spirit aren't there ?If you are a Christian Scientist and my reference to the reading room bothers you please feel free to address the issue. I do have some questions regarding simple vs compound fractures and the best method of propping up the limb. If you are a Christian Scientist who feels that the Emergency Room works well, congratulations on your compromise in regards to Thinking vs Feeling
