Christine:

Do not forget that Ireland is the home of the great christian religious war between the Catholics and the Protestants -- two mobs of misguided mystics that I would shed nary a tear for if they both wiped each other out.

Christine, you know better than that! Religious thought is interesting to me as are other schools of thought. There is no question that it is an intrinsic part of humanity. Just the other day a friend of mine asked me to write a brief poem for a pictorial project of his which deals with crosses. He asked me to put into words, in the broadest sense, the relevance of crosses as I see it. This is what I came up with (which he will use)

The Cross
Enduring within a criss-crossing cascade
Grasping along a fuzzy labyrinth of jade
Showered by crystalline beads of time
Charged procession of the stringed sublime

No twist or turn ever appears the same
Blinded by foggy walls standing to keep us sane
Along inner pathways of the electric game
Flows, ubiquitous, the confluence of the cross

Ignacio

ps I found your link very interesting indeed! I had heard
of Cuchulain from Yeats but I was not aware that the champion of Ulster was unwilling to look upon naked Goddesses. What is going on there? Hey have you seen Riverdance? If so what did you think of it? Can you dance like that?!
