I agree, a Market Cap of 900 million and annual sales of 9 million. The cap is 100 times the annual revenues, what's up?

So you want to know who is buying VRSN @ 42?
Geeks who are up on technology but not investment savvy. Hey, who else is going to invest in VRSN. Perhaps their buying is based on knowledge of the industry and it's future. The people moving on this company are not old school investors/brokers. Investment fundamentals, whats that? The rules are changing in the world of investing. The market is almost up to 8700!? Who would have thought! Analysts predicted 8500 by years end. Why is this market so crazy? My humble opinion is the surge of online trading. I was thinking, who trades online and when? People are trading from their work place during business hours, at home before work, during lunch break, etc... Only 30% of the companies out there have internet access (you can research this if you like, but you'll find 30% is approx.). As this number grows, so will the trading. Usually people who trade online are hip in the technology arena. So don't expect them to buy Kellog and Ford Mtr. Co. Do you think their going to listen to captain brokers advice who can't even rebuild the kernel on his Sparc/HP-UX/NT box in 600ml? Hey, people invest in what they know.

I think a large number of them are ignorant investors like Mr. Springer who's been attacking me on this board and making up lies.

There's a lot of very positive news about the general comp. security
industry out there.

I can't find a single article published-- anywhere-- in the last two weeks with Verisign in the head.

I truly think these prices are coming from un-informed investors and day-traders.

Do the math!!!! Do very basic DD starting with the NYT article!!! This is the most overvalued stock of the 90s. If holding on to my short for a very rocky ride until news starts to hit from analysts and
the press. VRSN has made a mockery of the current investment climate.
I wonder if the Brazilian stock exchange now has more accurate valuations from company to company then NASDAQ.
