The very fact that there can be a price war in the Eastern European computer market seems to point to the fact that the market isn't truly competitive as it stands.

Only companies sitting on fat profit margins can afford to indulge in such an exercise.

The question that we should be asking isn't "Why are the prices falling?", instead I'd like to know why they're currently so high.

Oligopoly. It's not easy to spell, but pretty much sums it up.
