Andreas,

I didn't like reading what you said but
it sounds all too true.

Good post.

Andreas: your contentions seems plausible in the wake of 'price-wars' and cheap pcs. Here is post a post I got from DELL which further confirms the fact that in a cut-throat 'price-war' environment nobody wins. From the looks of it we might be seeing free pcs pretty soon.<g>

To All: According to Bloomberg, 9 CPQ executives sold 1.2 million shares at prices ranging from $30.56 to $36.00 between Feb 2 and Feb 17.

CPQ states that this is not unusual, as $54.6 million worth of stock was sold in October. The speculation in the Bloomberg report (dated 3/10/98) is that some executives new things were going to be worse than expected and unloaded.

If this has already been posted, sorry for the late post. I just received a hardcopy of the Bloomberg report from my broker.
