<<How will the security problems on ASND's Access Server and MAX hardware uncovered today affect ASND's bottom line? >>

Peter,

People that know anything about the networking business, (or the software business for that matter), know that NOTHING is completely secure.
The thing is to address the problem. Get the fix out quick. And than people will relax.
If they can't fix the problem with software, and it requires hardware, than that is the where it can get costly.

Joe

the security problem is not a hardware problem but a software problem. this type of software problem on products are the norm, and companies fix them quickly and release the fix for free in short time.

<<Do they need to replace the existing hardware already sold? >>

Ascend Communications has been notified of these problems, and is believed to be addressing them in a new version of the router's software.
