>>IMO we're just entering the second inning of this ballgame. Yahoo may have a 1-run lead, but they've 'taken' nothing at this point.

...and the bet is on!

OFF_TOPIC on the browser war.

I was an early adopter of Netscape 4.01; the only way to upgrade
is by downloading the whole enchilada. I gave it a try one night
after most of the U.S. was asleep and had no luck. I kept filling
out the damn registration form and clicking on AGREE, but it kept
giving me a javascript error. Yeah, they'll mail me a CD-ROM
if I fork over the $40 bucks or so.

So I went over to microsoft.com and tried to get the latest IE 4.
They have a 440 KB setup.exe file that handles interrupted
downloads better than the NSCP approach, and no java errors or
http errors over in billg land. After 3 days of trying (not
all their fault since the local phone switch is overloaded),
I have 9 MB of the needed 16 on my hard drive. No point in
giving up now. Though I hate MSFT with a passion, it seems
like they have a better system for d/l'ing their browser.

If I can d/l all 16 MB of IE 4 before they have an another
upgrade, I'll probably stop using Netscape 4.01 because it
crashes all the time when i go to java pages.
