Andreas...Your last two posts were quite good and paint a bleak picture. Don't confuse 1998 with 1991 however. Recession was the order of the day back then. Also wait to see what the true plans are going forward before you take any action. You can only guess now just as every analyst and poster on the thread is doing. Thursday should help to clear things up (I hope).

Andreas.

thanks for the insight. The radio shack deal was the straw that broke the camels back re: CPQs relationship with major retailers.

But to tell you the truth, CPQ would be better off not even competing in this business, so even if Compusa and Best buy and the such reduce their CPQ shelf space it will probably add to CPQ earnings!!!

as far as when to cut your losses. That is a tough question. anything could happen over the short term. you might to consider not selling all of your CPQ at once but getting out slowly over time.

Mr. Ball and others, would you agree with this investing strategy, my inutution tells me you know more about short term trading than me.

Jason

DELL or KO? Hmmm... Which is really overvalued, the mature KO or the growing DELL? Hmmm... Warren Buffett is a great investor, but he's not omnipotent... DELL remains a solid firm with excellent prospects for growth...

pasted post: >>for those of you who do not own cpq, I believe you have lots of time. The stock is dead in the water until this damn war is over (a war I might add caused primarily by ibm and cpq). Go buy some coke (ko) (Warren Buffet didn't recently reduce his holdings of KO) and visit cpq in a year from now. Also, if you need a computer go down to Best Buy - I hear they're selling them on best offer basis.<<
