I thought about the same factors which have or have not been priced in...my guess was that no news means a hit tommorrow

so decided to sit on the 27 offer mid day and never got executed

I'm in at an average of $19. I thought about selling a portion before the announcement, but decided not to. If nothing major is announced, I expect a minor correction. But I also expect renewed upward movement after that because, as you say, this situation is very different from 8/97.
