James...Thank you for the insight.

Here's my view:

..."Strategic series of actions to achieve objective
1. Actions will mainly be based on assumptions
2. Since assumptions may or may not be correct the
"chief strategist must go on the campaign himself"
3. Flexibility is necessary for continuous effective front line decision making in order to adjust to:
.....A. incorrect assumptions
.....B. changing dynamic environment
(the opponent(s) are not inanimate elements, and since their
actions and reactions are governed by human response
it can be unpredictable. Therefore, a front line monitoring system is required to measure the actions and reactions)

Harmony in full actions leading and through the engagement - Those who do not understand the full picture look for success where it does not exist. This will cause divergence from the main objective and lead to a false sense of security. Complacency and stagnation."

-from Loki's book of Corporate Strategy-

(Hope I'm not driving anybody crazy with excerpts from my book)

Describes flexibility to react to the changing environment.
Obviously, we know which is horizontal integration and which
is vertical integration.
To say it simply..."The dinosaurs didn't adapt. I haven't seen
any lately"

I hope, we are not seeing CPQ become dinosaurs.

Thank you

Loki

PS>I was on the front lines as much as in the board room.
