BAY Thread:
Phil Orlando, an analyst from Value Line Investments, just gave BAY a #1 rating for the next 12 months..."Buy on any weekness"...on Taking Stock on CNBC this afternoon!! He said the stock is experiencing weakness from Asian worries and that he expects the stock to be back in the mid thirties in a few months and over 50 in the next eighteen. I hope this calms down some worries from loyal BAYers! I know I'm buying on any more weakness.

One point of disagreement, Alcatel (ALA) is and has been a bold acquirer in the past. They did buy Rockwell's telecommunications division for a hefty price. Of the foriegn players, they may in fact be in the market for networker. They are also pursuing the integration of voice and data similar to LU and NT.

I somewhat attribute the recent weakness in BAY to be more of a fallout of CPQ than anything. CPQ business division isn't doing to well, so that probably affects the LAN players.
