Bob,

I was interviewed by Tony Keyes on his Washington D.C. radio show last Friday. Been listening to a radio show tonight here in Houston which featured Tony Keyes. He ran into the same problem that I did. Not enough time to convey such a big story.

In his last minute he said ... 10,000 embedded systems in a typical oil platform ... most DEEP beneath the water. This is DEFINITELY something the Houston market would be interested in. Then got cut off. I can relate.

Since you have a pretty good audience with your computer club, get a copy of my Y2K reports: 1) Utility, 2) Airline, 3) Medical Device reports ... and people can make copies. I'm still working on banking and stock market reports. See what might be useful, and what might not. NO stocks are discussed in my Y2K research.

Email me: "Quest@hypercon.com" Subject: "Y2K Research Reports". All of my research is in Word97 - so, if you don't have it ... get a friend with Word97 to email me. I've been trying to convert all reports to other formats, but have run into trouble with logistics & time.

For those who don't know Jim Lord - read his Y2K "Tips of the Week". Go back thru 1997 in the archives - he has some key info there. I'm a fan of Jim Lord's. He gives good, solid advice.

Bob,

Jim Lord's a great guy and someone I have had the pleasure of meeting personally at our local Y2K workgroup meetings.

It would be nice to see other "experts" be able to share the opportunity to be interviewed on other radio shows. Let's just not panic everyone by telling them the truth of how unlikely it is that all systems will be checked and remidiated in time for the big "00"..... <wink>

Regards,

Ron
