The Fire GL 1000 Pro AGP is a high-end integrated 2D/3D/MPEG-1 graphics accelerator designed to bring the advanced graphics capabilities of AGP technology to Pentium II users. The retail Fire GL 1000 Pro AGP, with 8MB of SGRAM and a software bundle featuring powerful 3D productivity applications, is now shipping at an estimated retail price of $199.95.

Providing outstanding performance for Windows NT and Windows 95 users, including OpenGL support, Diamond's Fire GL 1000 Pro AGP delivers a strong combination of 2D and 3D acceleration for business multimedia presentations, Web authoring, VRML, digital content creation and 3D gaming.
The Fire GL 1000 Pro incorporates 3Dlabs' PERMEDIA(R) 2 Processor, which includes a full floating-point geometry setup processor built with GLINT Delta technology, an integrated 230MHz RAMDAC and is capable of displaying resolutions as high as 1920x1200 in high color.
The Fire GL 1000 Pro is populated with 8MB of high-powered 100 MHz SGRAM memory and offers a complete 3D feature set, including rasterization, texture mapping, double buffering and 16-bit Z-buffering. With software and hardware optimized for speed and reliability, the Fire GL 1000 Pro AGP can process up to one million texture mapped polygons per second with applications based on the OpenGL, Direct3D and HEIDI application programming interfaces (APIs). Diamond's Fire GL 1000 Pro also includes an integrated StereoGraphics connector, allowing users to connect external 3D-shutter glasses.
The new Fire GL 1000 Pro AGP ships with a valuable productivity software bundle featuring: Diamond Multimedia's Big Focus and 3D Win AutoCAD tools for advanced productivity when using AutoCAD; Caligari's trueSpace3(TM) SE for 3D animation; CrystalGraphics' Crystal 3D IMPACT!(TM) for 3D titles and logos and Cosmo Software's Cosmo Player 2.0, a VRML browser.
Diamond Multimedia's Fire GL 1000 Pro is also available to retailers in a PCI configuration.
