You, others on this thread, and some posters on the value thread seem to like Deswell considerably more than Namtai. What is your reasoning? Namtai buys what I perceive as commodity services from Deswell, ie same services/products could be purchased from many others. Namtai on the other hand sells to OEMs. Both companies have modern plants and appear to be well respected contract manufacturers. Both have strong finances,strong cash positions and reasonably good long term growth. Unless the Japanese economy crashes, Namtai has the better prospect of maintaining momentum. In my opinion the offering, the buyback and other actions of Namtai were shareholder friendly, and I perceive the visit to China as being positive. I am in no way knocking Deswell, but am interested in your perspective.
