First of all I can't say much (because I dont know much) about the consumer PC mkt. Other than CPQ shouldn't be in the low end of that biz (i.e. <1K) and to compete in the profitable end (i.e. second time buyer) all they need to do is replicate www.dell.com

As far as the commercial sector which I am a bit more versed in, I believe the actual PC has already become a commodity. It seems with all this talk about direct/indirect, ODM, CTO, BTO, CCP, AAP etc etc
it is on the fronts of mfg and distribution where companies are attempting to differentiate and create value. As an aside, It appears that as all major OEMs are attempting to replicate Dell's mfg and distribution, then Dell must be doing something right

"Enterpise a computing a threat to PCs", please first define for me (you guessed it 20 words or less, sentence form) Enterprise Computing, then I would be honored to answer your questoion
