Pierre and others,

The PC industry has undergone huge changes the past few years. It is now one of the biggest industries in the world and continues to grow at very respectable rates given its' size. My question to you is this:

Where will the profits flow?

Almost every industry has a section that collects a disproportionate share of the profits. It is usually one protected from most competition. The rest seem to fall into that category of "profitless prosperity" (sorry if that phrase revealed my age as well as my economic bent).

Will it be the old guard of Microsoft, Intel, Adaptec and others?

Will it be the box makers? Compaq, Dell?

Will it be software application makers?

Will it be semiconductor equipment suppliers?

I cannot believe that the whole industry is destined for profitless prosperity. With unit growth still in the teens, this industry is still in great shape, despite some battering in the stock market. Where do each of you think the best money will be made?

Pierre,

Could you mention a few stocks that you think may be well positioned for the "AUI Era"? I notice that Netspeak is quite strong recently in wake of MOT tender.
