I am long THRX, NASI, & INIS. NASI started shipping their Iodine-125 seed in January. They have a marketing agreement with Mentor(MNTR). They will produce an average of 10,000 seeds per week. Both Oppenheimer & Meyerson cover the stock. Myerson has an earnings estimate of .90 fy oct. 98, and $1.81 fy 99. NASI has filed FDA approval for the palladium seed, and should receive approval within the next couple of months. INIS is another great story. The Garp Monitor came out with a research paper on INIS. The co. should be profitable in the fourth quarter - .40 per share and $ 1.50 in 99. INIS will be a contract mfg. of radioisotopes. The high cost of accelerators is the main reason why other co. haven't jumped into the business. Cyclotrons can cost up to 10 mill. each. INIS bought a linear accelerator built for the government's 8 billion high-energy physics project, which was cancelled. The machine cost $50 mill., INIS bought it for 2.9 mill. The linear accel. will have twice the energy and be able to produce 6 radioisotopes at a time, and at a lower cost. they are waiting FDA approval which should come this summer. Their Mtk. partner is Imagyn. Brachytherapy is a fast growing field. There will be room for all players as the procedure (seeding), to treat prostate cancer will be the procedure of choice. I intend to ride the wave of this new and exciting treatment, with THRX,NASI, and INIS. THRX has the best MTK. partner of the three(J&J).
