I can't tell you what came over the press line. You haven't provided this information. Therefore, everyone on this thread be careful of Yosid, since he has not provided this research. I learned that from Cheesie...

Yosid: I'll be honest, I haven't done much on shorting stocks (many years ago, I did it once when I first started in the market). Since VISX is way up, Im curious, would you view VISX as a "SHORT" or maybe just leave it alone? Any info welcomed...I realize any comments aren't etched in stone (just in case I do short and get burned). However, I am curious.

Also, I know you like LVCI, and LCAV and Im enjoying LCAV, but does this announcement hurt LVCI and all other companies like VISX, BEAM, LCAV and LZRCF since it's possible they all could of been doing these higher myopic procedures. Or do you think its restricted to LVCI or LVCI and VISX (allowing it to go on) or what?...What is the International Card...Pappy

It's good to hear from Cheeseboy again. He has been around the AOL boards longer than most. And although I did not like his choice of LASE I mostly agreed with his assessments of Summit and Visx. As for posting here or elsewhere, I would recommend considering posting on the free Yahoo boards. Posting here for me is still free since I have been a member for several years.

I do have a question concerning what Summit will charge for the erodible masks? Are they going to provide them for free?

Also, what are the feelings about the breakup of PPP? Let's say that Visx forgives the $4.5+ million the Summit owes from machine sales if Summit agrees to the quick split of PPP. Then, what would be the result? At first I would assume Visx royalty income would rise dramatically and Summit's would fall. Then would Summit try to compete by lowering the fee on their machines? A royalty fee price war would not be good for Summit or Visx. I'm just trying to understand the dynamics of a proposed split-up of PPP. Obviously, Visx considers it in their best interest and is frustrated in dealing with Summit. Visx also has been replacing so many Summit machines and has targeted the big Summit users.

As everyone knows I own both Summit and Visx, but much more Visx than Summit.

Also, I find it funny that LVCI is rising just near the end of the quarter, just like last quarter. Does Summit prop-up LVCI's stock at quarter's end so they don't have to re-price (adjust the value of) their LVCI holdings? Remember Summit's earnings last year were due to the accounting trick of reporting a non-cash gain from the sale of their laser centers. In reality, Summit's cash dropped significantly last year.
