Jason, have to ask. But what's going to happen to Dell when the idea of the computer as commodity hits home in the consumer market. Dell is neither high end nor low end. It is in the middle, the market which will be most impacted by the Frigidaire effect. Dell knows it is in the middle which is why it is scrambling to attain some finger holds in the enterprise (commercial) arena. I suspect there will be no low end ultimately (in the next year or two) but only the middle (the commodity market) and the high end. Unless Dell can somehow grab a significant share of the high-end (proprietary commercial market) soon, it has a limited future. dulane

Jason, Jason, my man, did you notice how many posts there are on this thread? Jason, Jason, I've read so much about compaq I can't hold it all in my head. By the time my day job is over my night job begins, and I hear it all over again. At some point, my conscious mind gives way to the basic instincts of time. You can't wrap it all in a nice neat package, well calculated for man kind.
