Dear Sonki:
Was just about to publish the same article.

Does that mean ML is going to take a big position in ORCL? How do they play this thing so that they can actually send people money if the stock goes down at the end of the period. Or are they saying there is limited downside in this stock and therefore the cost of money over the years will be no worse than a junk bond loan at worst. Or does this mean that they will be playing this thing like a bullwhip so that they can make big money on the downside. Perhaps they are saying that ORCL is overvalued and if they short it they are getting a free loan from the buyers of the derivatives. I don't get these things - I mean why if they are going to track the stock percentage wise would anyone (long term investor) own the stock given the downside protection offered here. Although you can't write covered calls against it you are not giving up much in that dept. with ORCL. What is your take?
