Bitstream Acquires Minority Interest in DiamondSoft;
Companies Enter Into Strategic Distribution Agreement

SEYBOLD SEMINARS, NEW YORK, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Bitstream Inc. (Nasdaq: BITS - news) and DiamondSoft, Inc. of Mill Valley, CA., announced today that they have entered into a strategic agreement in which Bitstream acquired a minority equity interest in
DiamondSoft. DiamondSoft is the developer of Font Reserve, the award-winning Macintosh font management application.

In addition, the companies have also entered into a cross-license product distribution agreement, under which Bitstream will market DiamondSoft's Font Reserve to hardware and software OEM developers, and DiamondSoft will market Bitstream's Font Navigator(TM) to
retailers and corporate users. Bitstream will also distribute Font Reserve to retailers and corporate users in Europe, through their European subsidiary.
