10K, basic observations

-They ate 'restructuring' costs, which seem to be 30% of 1997 loss.
-Revenues (almost entirely advertising) doubled; cost of revenues (mostly personnel & building web sites) doubled; sales&marketing (chiefly fees paid to Netscape) grew 65%; R&D about the same.
-WSRN (www.wsrn.com) saith est. 1998 = -8 cents, 1999 = 30 cents.

Not really news, but interesting reading. A new company building its business, which is as old as the hills (raking in advertising fees) in a new environment (the net). A challenge to valuate.

cheers

Thanks Gene,

LOL!!!

In looking over the 10k for myself, I did find information in the numbers that, though not good at the present time, give me some confidence that SEEK is headed in the right direction. Most noticeable was the percentage of increase in revenue as compared to the percentage of increase in expenses. Though the expenses were high enough to cause a loss this year, should they continue to increase their revenue at a similar percentage and manage to keep the expense percentage in check, this appears to me to be a good long term investment.
