One semi-encouraging thing is that the Market Makers did not move the bid/ask down on the news overnight. If they had, it would probably have been a nasty day for longs. Other good thing is that ISIP did a fairly good job of adding perspective/damage control info to the release, so if people take time to read, they won't fear the worst.

Craig, a lawsuit might be difficult and minimally effective.

Remember, the researcher in question is in Basel, Switzerland. The Swiss are no where near as "suit-happy" as the U.S. is. Also, this guy's career is pretty much finished, so there's no need for much more action. After all, the guy certainly can't use Novartis as a reference, and most likely Novartis has informed the scientific community at large. He'll be blackballed for a long, long time (as well he should).

I'm a little concerned about what this will do to the stock over the next few months. While this is certainly not Isis's fault, portfolio managers are not known for their patience and due-process. Every time this stock seems to get some momentum, something clubs it back down. We all had a nice little rise back to 15, and then this hit... Hopefully it will spring back with the filing of the NDA.
