Petey, I note that some MF NAVs aren't updated to last night's prices yet. What's the schedule for updating prices?

Can you say "Borders" Peter?? <g>.

All.. I had a very interesting thing happen this morning when placing a sell order. B&A to start was 8 5/16 & 8 3/8. My sell limit order @ 8 5/16 immediately bumped the bid to 8 1/4. Not unusual. The ask went to 8 9/32. I waited a couple minutes and then cancelled the order. Ask went to 8 3/8. So I placed the limit to sell @ 8 5/16 again only to have the ask go to 8 9/32 again. Without hesitation I cancelled and the bid went to 8 3/8 again. After doing this 3 times and getting the same ask each time without any volume increase showing on Datek's quotes, I felt that something wasn't right with the way my ask was changing to less than my ask. Now, I don't have another real time quote service to check things out but, I somehow get the feeling that Datek was the one undercutting my ask especially when it would disappear whenever I cancelled my order. I certainly hope that Datek isn't playing this kind of game but today my suspicions were definitely awakened....

John

Peter, I've seen a few funny volumes lately. Yesterday I saw CPQ with a volume of over 1 Billion for a few minutes before it returned to normal. Now I see SLB at -828 Million. That wouldn't be right, would it? <g>

What gives?

Peter,

Could the Daily Activity page be reordered from newest to oldest?

When I've done a lot of trades, I have to page down to see the status of the latest trades. Seeing them at the top would be better.

Scott

Peter

How about putting your personnel through some kind of training course so that they speak with one mind. I've been a client of yours for six months now, and am still getting conflicting answers to questions each and every time I call. Dates, times, and personnel I have talked to are available on request.

You can start with either explaining to them, or having something printed up, that sets forth your methods of computing interest charged and interest earned. I can't tell you how many different representatives at your firm have said, "...I'm not sure how it's computed, I just know it's correct....." It would also be nice if they could tell me which day they considered me having a debit balance on which interest was charged. Must I print the portfolio page at the end of each day, in order to prove my point?

Aren't there rules, like the one's you state you rely on in the Customer Agreement,(that you must follow), that you can print up and post on the Web site, or send to us? How about banking regulations? It is just unacceptable for you not to have to provide us with an explanation. I have seen numerous posts on this subject, but you never comment on them when you appear in the thread. You only reply to those comments you have an answer to.

Come on Peter. You owe more to your clients, especially the ones that were here even before me. As I think I mentioned once before, why not get proficient at each thing you do before you add new things? That is how people will beat a path to your door, and it won't be offset by attrition of the older customers.

Somebody explain to me how Datek figures Buying Power and Margin. Today my portfolio said that I had $8,235 CASH in my margin account along with 2000 shares of THQI at about $18.50. I try to enter a buy order at $19 for 400 sh THQI which should cost $7,600, but I get

"Sorry. We cannot accept your order.
Not enough buying power to cover trade.
Short by $504.23
Cannot buy 400 shares of THQI"

W.T.F.?

Normally it seems that Datek will not extend margin on a position which makes up more than 50% of my holdings. Is this true? If so why don't they tell me that somewhere?

Would it be possible to have the S&P future premium above/below fair value displayed on the screen at all times with the indicies. This way, a trader to see if buying/selling program is kicking in and one can trade off of this information.

Peter, I noticed that you have moved the quote time down the screen on at least some of the classic servers. I think it's a big improvement for conserving screen space. Thanks.

BTW, last week you mentioned a second express server would be online by the end of the week. I haven't seen any sign of it. What's the status, please?
