When compared to its peers such as Lucent, Nortel should sell for
about 85.00 US per share. Check out comparative earnings yourself.

As Marvin said, to establish a 'fair' price for a stock it should be compared to its peers. These days individual PE is no indication of a 'fair' market price. With no inflation, low interest rates and all the local plus foreign money chasing stocks here in the US, PE numbers should be only a minor factor in the decision to buy a stock. I do not subscribe to the 'buy and hold' theory timing is difficult but it is everything. Running up with the momentum boys and bailing out when they do can give you a great rush ( of course you could be left holding the bag sometimes but maybe it won't be often ).
We will probably have a minor correction tomorrow based on BAY's bad news and probably have another minor one in 4-6 weeks. When the stock hits $85 later in the year however watch out as a flimsy excuse will be used to drive the stock down substantially to bring the PE 'back into line' only to let the earnings catch up and later run it up to new highs in 1999.
