Good post chip. I agree with your thought that it is really good news or really bad news.. However, I'll counter on this one:

I don't see how we can make any real progress unless this is one company. Otherwise any future business activity would be very difficult (twice the cost and hassle). I think it's worth giving up the trading vehicle, as long as we're getting a train in it's place.
Plus the SIR holders are getting a good deal. Of course, the insiders were primarily holders of SIR. This is probably why SIR gets the better deal.
